Private Investments and Due Diligence: Assessing the Investment Thesis of a Newly Forming Fund

As a client of Sunpointe, Barrett liked to evaluate her own private investments as an addition to the core portfolio.  At a conference she attended, she was approached by the partners of a newly forming private equity fund. The investment theme was compelling, but she was unfamiliar with the structure of the fund, which was new in the marketplace.  She reached out to her team at Sunpointe for help. “Have you seen this structure before?  What are the pros and cons?  And what do you think of the investment thesis?”

Due Diligence is a process – not as clean as science, and not as messy as art. A key aspect for clients and the managers we help them hire, is making sure there’s a mutual benefit. Bespoke manager diligence and research is a way Sunpointe differentiates itself from bigger competitors who simply don’t have time for this level of service.
